New York Giants Rumors: Victor Cruz Returns Soon? Odell Beckham Fantasy Starter, Eli Manning Over Cowboys Loss, JPP Missing Fingers

The New York Giants are hoping to get victor Cruz back healthy in a week or two, but the team is not expecting Jason Pierre-Paul any time soon, as JPP is reportedly missing more than just one finger. Eli Manning took blame for the Dallas Cowboys loss and is now moving onto the Falcons, while Odell Beckham is ready to rebound for fantasy football owners into Week 2.

Cruz has been out while dealing with a calf injury and the Giants are not totally sure when he wil be able to return. Cruz was held out for Sunday night and he did not play in the preseason. Cruz was coming back from a serious knee injury and was recovering well, but the calf injury cropped up before he could get back on the field. According to the NY Daily News, the Giants held Cruz out of practice on Wednesday and the team is not expecting him to play in Week 2.

The Giants would love to get Cruz and Beckham on the field at the same time, but this season that has not happened yet. The two played together for a little while before Cruz was injured last season, but not enough time for the Giants liking. The team wants to be cautious with Cruz to make sure he lasts after coming back from knee surgery and the calf issue could keep him out for a few more weeks. With Cruz out, expect Preston Parker to come in behind Beckham and Rueben Randle for Eli Manning.

Last season Cruz played in six games and had 23 catches and he will be looking to get onto the field soon for the Giants. Beckham comes in as the top wideout for the Giants and he had five catches for 44 yards to start the season against the Cowboys. Last year Beckham was amazing with 91 catches for 1305 yards and 12 touchdowns and he will be looking to get things going against the Falcons. Beckham praised Manning and the Giants offense despite the loss to the Cowboys and he said that the team is not concerned about how the game ended against Dallas.

Manning came out and took blame for the loss after telling Rashad Jennings not to score and messing up the time management at the end of the game. Manning said that he is "over" the loss and is moving onto the next game against the Falcons. Manning and the Giants are usually strong at clock management, but things broke down on Sunday night.

Jason Pierre-Paul remains out for the Giants with his hand injuries and reports have JPP being out for a while. According to ESPN New York, JPP had a "repair procedure" on his hand before he met with the Giants last week and he reportedly has a piece missing from one of his fingers. That piece is not related to the amputated finger that JPP also had earlier in the summer. Pierre-Paul injured his hand using fireworks over the July 4 holiday.
