The Tennessee Titans got a great debut from Marcus Mariota in Week 1 and heading into Week 2 he is a great fantasy sleeper along with Bishop Sankey against the Cleveland Browns. Kendall Wright is another good option or fantasy owners, while the Titans are hoping that tight end Delanie Walker can play after dealing with a wrist injury.
Mariota had a debut for the ages with 209 passing yards and four touchdowns in his first matchup in the NFL, which happened to be against first overall pick Jameis Winston. Mariota was the second overall pick and he handed Winston another loss after also beating him in college previously. Mariota completed all but three of his 16 passes in the game and he showed the touch, mobility and accuracy that he had while winning the Heisman Trophy at Oregon.
Mariota likely will not keep this up all season, but it was a great debut for the rookie and that makes him a worthy pickup option heading into Week 2. The defenses will get better as the season goes on, but Mariota faced the Buccaneers in Week 1 and now he has the Cleveland Browns in Week 2 and they should be a solid matchup for him. Mariota had a 157.9 passer rating in the game and while that will not hold up all season, the Titans likely feel pretty good about Mariota moving forward.
The Titans are likely not going to be a playoff team this season, but they have put together some solid talent on offense and could be a good fantasy option if Mariota continues to play well. Justin Hunter, Kendall Wright and Dorial Green-Beckham along with Harry Douglas gives the team some solid depth at wide receiver. The team also has some good depth at RB with Bishop Sankey, Terrance West, Dexter McCluster and David Cobb (when he comes back from injury).
Delanie Walker is also a solid tight end option and he is hoping to play after dealing with a wrist injury. According to ESPN.com, Walker is listed as questionable for the game and he was able to have a full practice on Friday.
Sankey is a player worth keeping an eye on, as he is the clear starter in Tennessee and had a solid Week 1 performance. Sankey had 74 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown and he also added two catches for 12 yards and another score. With a rookie at the quarterback position, Sankey could see more work if Mariota struggles and that could make him a top-15 running back in fantasy this season.
Wright is the top wide receiver option for the Titans with Beckham and Hunter behind him and he started off the season with a solid performance as well. Wright had 101 yards and a touchdown on four catches for the Titans and he comes in after having a solid season with 57 catches in 14 games, but those numbers were down from 2013. Wright had his best season with 94 catches for 1079 yards and he will be looking to repeat that this year.
