The Green Bay Packers will be without Bryan Bulaga for over a month, as reports have the tackle dealing with a knee sprain heading into Week 2. The Packers have the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night football and players like Aaron Rodgers, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams are some of the best fantasy start options.
The Packers have been hit with some significant injuries this year already with Jordy Nelson already out for the season with a torn ACL injury. According to Albert Breer at NFL.com, Bulaga had to leave practice during the week with an MCL sprain and the injury was significant enough that Bulaga needed surgery. Ian Rapoport reports that Bulaha underwent surgery to "repair a torn meniscus" in his knee and he is "expected" to miss six weeks.
Pro Football Talk reports that Don Barclay likely will take over for Bulaga this week and could continue to start in his place until the tackle returns. Bulaga has dealt with injuries before and he missed the 2013 season with an ACL and now will be out for a stretch for the Packers. The Packers won in Week 1 against the Bears to start off their season with a divisional win and now they face the defending NFC champs with the Seattle Seahawks on the schedule.
Aaron Rodgers had a strong start to the season with three touchdowns and zero picks in the win against the Bears. Rodgers threw two touchdown passes to James Jones and he is a solid fantasy option for the Packers with Nelson out for the season. Jones has a good rapport with Rodgers from his time with the Packers in the past and the two both commented on that comfort level after the win against the Bears. Jones had four catches for 51 yards and two touchdowns in the game and he could be a reliable target against the Seahawks.
Davante Adams is a sleeper option for this season with Nelson out and he had a solid start with four catches for 59 yards. Adams had eight targets in the game from Aaron Rodgers and that is promising going forward, as he could be a breakout player after being a reliable option last season. Adams has the chance to step up with Nelson out and he comes in after making 38 catches for 446 yards last season as a rookie. Cobb will continue being the number one receiver and he comes in after making five catches for 38 yards and one touchdown.
The Packers also suffered a loss on defense, as linebacker Sam Barrington is going to miss the season with an ankle injury According to Fox Sports, Alex Marvez reported that Barrington could be out for the season and he later was placed on IR. Barrington as questionable last week after previously suffering an ankle injury in the preseason.
