Fantasy Football Best Pickups Week 3: Matt Jones, Travis Benjamin, David Johnson, Dion Lewis, James Starks, Allen Robinson, Ameer Abdullah Waiver Options

The fantasy football Week 3 schedule is coming up and after Week 2, some waiver pickups and sleeper options include Matt Jones, Travis Benjamin, David Johnson, Dion Lewis, James Starks, Allen Robinson, Ameer Abdullah, Chris Johnson, Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley for fantasy owners.

The Washington Redskins won over the Rams and rookie Matt Jones had a big game and could be a strong option moving forward. Alfred Morris is the starter, but Jones is going to get carries behind him and if he keeps performing like he did in Week 2, he will be a good fantasy option moving forward. Cole Beasley and Terrance Williams are sleepers until Dez Bryant comes back, as the Cowboys will need more wideouts to step up with injuries to Bryant and Tony Romo.

Travis Benjamin has emerged as a strong wideout option for the Browns, while running backs Dion Lewis and James Starks are good options in deeper leagues. Eddie Lacy suffered an injury and while it's not expected to be serious, fantasy owners should look at Starks as a backup option. Allen Robinson had a strong game for the Jaguars in their win over the Dolphins and he could be a solid WR2 or WR3 option to step in for owners dealing with injuries.

Abdullah had a big game in Week 1 and while he did not perform so well in Week 2, he looks like he is the clear starter for the time being. Joique Bell has been a huge disappointment so far, while Theo Riddick has gotten some work, but Abdullah is the better option to stick with. Abdullah had just six rushes for nine yards in the game against the Vikings, but the running game overall was a mess. Last week Abdullah was very productive and fantasy owners can expect more of that going forward, especially if Bell continues to struggle.

Jones is the top free agent pickup for this week, as he rushed for 123 yards in the game against the Rams and had two touchdowns for the Redskins. Jones also had three catches for 23 yards in the game and was very productive and moving forward Jay Gruden could give him more work behind Morris. Morris was solid in the game and one telling sign for Jones is that he only played three fewer snaps in the matchup than Morris did. Jones has big play potential and the Redskins like how he played in Week 2 and that could mean more chances in Week 3.

Benjamin has the chance to be the top wideout option in Cleveland and he comes in after putting up three catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday. Dion Lewis is still a solid sleeper option despite many thinking the Patriots would go away from him once LeGarrette Blunt returned. Lewis has been effective and he played all but 13 snaps on offense against the Bills and had over 130 total yards in the game. David Johnson, Allen Robinson and Starks are all worth looking at into next week and Starks could be a solid pickup if Lacy ends up having to miss time in Week 3.
