Fantasy football is moving into Week 3 and some sleeper players and waiver wire free agents to look at include Crockett Gillmore, Michael Crabtree, Rishard Matthews, Eric Ebron, Devonta Freeman, Torrey Smith, Karlos Williams, Leonard Hankerson, Doug Baldwin, Chris Johnson, Shane Vereen, Terron Ward, Rishard Matthews and James Jones.
Last week saw a number of surprising performances from players, including from Crabtree, Moncrief, Vereen and Gillmore, who were some of the leaders in scoring for their positions. Crabtree had a breakout game for the Raiders and it was one of the best performances for the WR in a couple years. Gillmore stepped up for the Ravens and is worth starting in all standard leagues, while Shane Vereen is a strong option in PPR leagues after making seven catches against the Falcons.
The Falcons RB situation has some sleeper pickup options, as Tevin Coleman is dealing with a rib injury and that could limit him for a stretch. The Falcons have solid options in Freeman and Terron Ward and for this week Freeman is the better option to start. Freeman is an explosive player and he also showed last week that he is a good fit in PPR leagues with the way he can catch out of the backfield.
At the wideout position there are some solid sleepers for this week, including Crabtree, Moncrief, Leonard Hankerson and Rishard Matthews. Matthews was close to getting released this summer, but with DeVante Parker slow to get going from foot surgery, Matthews has taken advantage. Matthews had six catches for 115 yards last week and this week he is worth a start for fantasy owners in need of a WR. Crabtree is a solid WR2 option for now and he comes in after making nine catches for 111 yards last week. Crabtree also had 16 targets and that is a promising number for him to keep performing.
TY Hilton played for the Colts despite dealing with a knee injury, but it was Moncrief who had the big game for the team. Moncrief had seven catches for 122 yards and a TD against the Colts and he has emerged as a consistent target for Andrew Luck. The tight end position has some solid sleepers with both Gillmore and Ebron stepping up last week. Gillmore showed his potential with five catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns, while Ebron caught five balls for 43 yards and a TD and now he has two scores in as many games.
Jordan Reed is another fantasy option, as he had six catches for 82 yards and has been a solid target for quarterback Kirk Cousins. Freeman and Ward are solid handcuffs for Coleman, as he could be out for a stretch with a rib issue. Freeman comes in a after putting up 59 total yards in the win against the Giants and Ward hasn't done much yet stats-wise, but he could be a high upside pickup for fantasy owners if they have Coleman. Karlos Williams, Leonard Hankerson, Doug Baldwin, Chris Johnson and Torrey Smith are also solid players to check out this week.
