San Diego Chargers
Philip Rivers (Quarterback): Rivers had a stellar game that lost some of its gleam thanks to an interception, but this passing attack is starting to come into focus. Rivers finished the day completing 21/27 passes for 241 yards, and 2 touchdowns. The Chargers receiving core has been re-energized by the addition of Stevie Johnson. Rivers will have a tough time against a Vikings defense that can force offenses to become sluggish; he will be a low tier TE1 for this matchup.
Melvin Gordon/Danny Woodhead (Running Back): Gordon finally had a standout performance against one of the better defenses in the league. He ended his day with 16 carries and gained 88 yards along with 1 catch that gained 10 yards. Gordon failed to get into the end zone but fantasy owners have to be excited with him have a good day. Woodhead played on passing downs again and got 7 carries for 36 yards along with 6 catches for 68 yards. Gordon is a RB2 this week and Woodhead is a strong flex play.
Malcom Floyd (Wide Receiver): Floyd played a modest role in the offense only being targeted 4 times and coming down with 2 of them. Floyd however made his targets count gaining 55 yards and touchdown. Floyd will be a boom or bust WR3 this week.
Stevie Johnson (Wide Receiver): Johnson has been the spark this offense has needed for quite some time. Johnson was targeted 6 times and hauled in 5 of them, he also gained 45 yards and a touchdown. Johnson has been a primary target for Rivers and should continue to put up points against the Vikings.
Cincinnati Bengals
Giovani Bernard/Jeremy Hill (Running Back): Giovani Bernard over the last 2 games has been the more consistent running back. Jeremy Hill has not lived up to the lofty expectations his owners had for him. Hill had 10 carries in week 2 for 39 yards and was benched because he fumbled twice. Hill should remain the starter but getting benched for fumbling is not the greatest sign. Giovani Bernard however finished the day with 20 carries for 123 yards, 3 catches for 16 yards. Bernard will continue to be a valuable flex option.
AJ Green (Wide Receiver): AJ Green got into the end zone in week 2 but only received 4 targets. Most fantasy owners assumed that a player of his caliber would be thrown to a lot more but Tyler Eifert has seemingly eaten into some of his targets. Green finished the day catching 3 out of 4 of his targets for 45 yards and a touchdown. Green should be a low tier WR1 next week.
Andy Dalton (Quarterback): Dalton has been very accurate for the first 2 weeks of the season behind us. He has no picks in 2 games and 5 touchdowns. Dalton's week 2 was sensational ending the day completing 16 out of 26 passes for 214 yards and 3 touchdowns. Dalton will be a low tier QB1 entering week 3.
Tyler Eifert (Tight End): Eifert has been one of Andy Dalton's most reliable targets. He finished week 2 hauling in 4 out of 5 targets for 49 yards and a touchdown. Eifert is Dalton's security blanket so expect him to keep getting opportunities to put up points.
