Miami Dolphins Rumors: Lamar Miller Out Week 3? Rishard Matthews Fantasy Sleeper, Damien Williams Start Option, Branden Albert Injury

The Miami Dolphins saw two key players deal with injuries on Sunday, as both Branden Albert and Lamar Miller had to leave the loss to the Jaguars. The Dolphins also have traded cornerback Will Davis and this comes after head coach Joe Philbin said that Ndamukong Suh has not been freelancing, pushing back on reports that he has played out of the game plan.

Earlier in the summer there were reports that the Dolphins were shopping Davis, but the team could not find a deal during the preseason. Davis was inactive for the first two games of the season and according to Pro Football Talk, the cornerback has now been traded to the Baltimore Ravens. PFT reports that the deal was for a 2016 seventh round pick and went down on Monday. Davis adds to a secondary that was burned bad in a loss against the Raiders this week.

The Dolphins have Brent Grimes, Brice McCain and Zack Bowman along with Jamar Taylor and Tony Lippett at corner and Davis was not going to be a factor this season. The Dolphins now get an extra draft pick without losing a key player. The Dolphins are hoping that moving forward key players like Albert and Miller will be okay to go in Week 3. Albert had to leave the game on Sunday with a hamstring injury, while Miller is dealing with an ankle injury. The Dolphins also saw Rishard Matthews make some plays this weekend and with DeVante Parker slow to start after foot surgery, he is a solid fantasy sleeper in deeper leagues.

According to the Miami Herald, Miller said after the game that he would be "alright" for Sunday and that his injury was not serious. Miller came into the season with high expectations, but so far he has not done much in two games for the Dolphins. Miller had 76 yards overall against the Redskins in Week 1 and in two games he has put up just 67 rushing yards. Miller was held to just 14 yards on 10 carries against the Jaguars and if he can't go next week, Damien Williams likely will step in.

Albert came into the season after recovering from ACL and MCL injuries to his knee and the Dolphins hoped he would be able to stay healthy for a full year after being injured in November last season. According to the Miami Herald, Albert suffered a hamstring injury and was not able to finish the game and the Dolphins brought in Jason Fox to take over. The Dolphins offensive line has been one of the major issues for the team over the past few years and losing Albert for any period of time would be tough.

Ryan Tannehill was sacked two times after Albert came out and the Dolphins now are waiting to see the severity of the injury before making a ruling on Albert playing next week. In the Herald report it also stated that Ndamukong Suh was "freelancing" and created "confusion" on defense, which is one reason why the Dolphins struggled. Head coach Joe Philbin pushed back on that in his presser, saying that he "didn't see anything of the sort."
