CONCACAF Champions League Results: Seattle Sounders Win Over Vancouver Whitecaps, Earn Quarterfinals Spot

The Seattle Sounders won over the Vancouver Whitecaps in the CONCACAF Champions League to advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

The Sounders come in after finishing group play at 2-1-1 and they won over one of their rivals to get it done with a 3-0 win on Wednesday. Vancouver can work on getting through with a win against Olimpia in October, but the Sounders have the tiebreak with a goal differential at 4-1 after previously winning 1-1 against the team.

Lamar Neagle scored twice for the team and Nelson Valdez added another goal and now the Sounders have the chance to get through to the next round. Chad Barret made a nice play for the first goal to help set up Neagle and the Sounders were in business early on and did not allow the Whitecaps to get back into it.

The knockout stage of the tournament picks up in February.
