Monday Night Football will feature an NFC West showdown between the Arizona Cardinals hosting the visiting San Francisco 49ers at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The 49ers will come into the contest with one of the NFL's best defenses and despite suffering a defeat at the hands of the New York Giants, the team remains dominant, winning three-of-four and looking like a team to be reckoned with.
Jim Harbaugh's team is tops in the league in rushing yardage (176.6 per game) and opponents passing yardage (173.4).
Arizona comes into the contest looking to re-establish some momentum that it has lost since starting the season 4-0. In the last three weeks, the Cardinals have had near misses every time, losing to the St. Louis Rams, Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings.
With a win, Arizona would vault itself into first place in the division.
Arizona will also be without quarterback Kevin Kolb, who despite losing out on the starting job out of training camp has been the team's leading passer with 1169 yards through the air and eight touchdowns. Backup John Skelton will get the starting position in Monday's matchup.
The Cardinals were one of three teams to beat the 49ers last season when they upset them, 21-19, at home, so it's entirely impossible that history won't repeat itself.
