Chicago Bulls News: Derrick Rose Suffers Orbital Fracture In Training Camp Practice, Will Have Surgery Wednesday

Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose suffered an orbital fracture in training camp practice after getting hit in the face with an elbow and the point guard will undergo surgery on Wednesday, according to a report from NBA.com.

The team announced the news on Tuesday after Rose was taken to Rush University Medical Center following the injury. According to ESPN.com, Rose was diagnosed with an orbital fracture that will require surgery and until the procedure is done, there is no timetable for a return. Head coach Fred Hoiberg said that Rose "looked great" in practice before the injury happened.

Rose has had injury issues over the past few years, including multiple issues with his knee that forced him to miss large chunks of two seasons. Rose played in 51 games last season and averaged 17 points and five assists per game.
