The NBA season will set off with the Washington Wizards at the Cleveland Cavaliers' home at the Quicken Loans Arena in Ohio with tipoff at 7 p.,m. ET.
Though the whole world will not be so enthusiastic about this matchup, these two teams will set off their seasons and attempt to give the Eastern Conference some competition.
The Rookie of the Year, Kyrie Irving will try to lead his team to victory and improve on a excellent first season in the league. He averaged 18.5 points, 5.4 assists and just under four assits a game.
"If we come to play every single night, I feel like we can play with the best of them on both ends of the floor," said Irving. "Whether anybody else believes that, it doesn't matter. It only matters what the Cavaliers organization believes. I believe we are a playoff team."
Those are big words from a layer in a team that went 21-45 for the third worse record in the Eastern Conference and tied fourth in the NBA overall.
The Wizards, who had the first pick in 2010 and picked John Wall, will be without their star point guard due to a knee injury.
In his pace, according to NBA.com, A.J. Price will be taking over that position in this game.
"Three guys have been fighting for that position, so we've been working hard every day and pushing each other," Price said. "The coaches have been telling me to keep playing my game. I've been trying to bring energy and keep the team together."
The Wizards will attempt to improve on a 20-46 season, the 2nd worst in the NBA last season.
