Steve Smith has been a focal point for this Baltimore Ravens offense however an injury to the 36 year old wide receiver should slow down his productivity in his final season in an NFL uniform.
The Ravens star wide receiver should miss a few games with 4 broken ribs however Smith might be one of the most resilient players in the entire NFL. This type of injury would keep the average NFL player out of action for around 3 to 4 weeks but with Smith it is assumed he should be back sooner rather than later.
The Ravens will rely on Kamar Aiken, Marlon Brown, Darren Waller, and the recently acquired Chris Givens to make up for Smith's absence. Givens should be a quality deep threat for Joe Flacco as this offense essentially lost its replacement for Torrey Smith when first round selection Breshad Perriman reinjured his knee and underwent PCL surgery.
It has been a string of bad luck for the Ravens however they have figured out how to win games with the pieces they have. Expect the Ravens to utilize their tight ends much more than they have in the past. Crockett Gillmore has been productive as a playmaker however he is currently dealing with a calf injury so the Ravens will need rookie tight end Maxx Williams to become a playmaker.
