Buffalo Bills Rumors: Trent Richardson, Montee Ball Signed as LeSean McCoy, Karlos Williams Out Week 5? Sammy Watkins Injury Pushes Percy Harvin, Robert Woods Help

The Buffalo Bills acquired LeSean McCoy with the idea that he would be the workhorse running back for the team after his success in Philadelphia. That has yet to really come together as a hamstring injury is keeping the running back off the field. McCoy suffered the injury during the preseason and while ESPN's Josina Anderson reported it was a tear, the running back was still active the first weeks of the season. However, McCoy can no longer put off rest and might be out for the foreseeable future.

According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, McCoy might not return until mid-season with the hamstring injury as a three to four week rest might be what the running back has to undergo. An MRI has revealed a new tear in the hamstring that will keep McCoy sidelined for now. McCoy made it clear that he has no intentions of rushing back.

"One thing I just promised myself is I can't go out there if I'm not 100 percent," McCoy said, via ESPN.com. "Whatever it is, I'm rushing to get back, but I'm not playing until I'm 100 percent."

While McCoy's absence might not have been an issue with the success of Karlos Williams, a concussion suffered by the rookie has his Week 5 status in doubt. According to general manager Doug Whaley, Williams suffered a concussion and is now doubtful for the game against the Tennessee Titans. That is a big hit for the Bills who have been riding the success of the rookie with McCoy sidelined. Losing Williams means a huge hole in the offense.

"[Williams] told our trainers several hours after the game that he wasn't feeling well and our medical staff took a look at him," Whaley said, via WGR 550. "They put him through further evaluations late yesterday afternoon and it was determined that he'll have a concussion. So we'll see how he proceeds throughout the week."

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Trent Richardson is set to work out for the Bills on Tuesday. Depth is an issue and Richardson is healthy. The running back was released by the Oakland Raiders after failed stints with the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts. The Bills need bodies at the position and Richardson fits the need. Other available options include Montee Ball who was released by the Denver Broncos and Pierre Thomas who has been gaining attention as well. Of course there is also Ray Rice sitting on the market.

The Bills need offensive help. According to the Buffalo News, Sammy Watkins might also be out Week 5 after missing the game against the New York Giants with a calf injury. That would leave the Bills without their top two running backs and their best wide receiver as they aim to get a win. Tyrod Taylor will be left with a question mark at the run game and Percy Harvin and Robert Woods in the receiving game. Head coach Rex Ryan admits he has no idea if Watkins will be ready to play.

"I have no idea," Ryan said, via the Buffalo News. "Hopefully we'll know more about it" Tuesday. "He looked good and he's moving around decent, so hopefully that's a good sign, but I'm certainly not the guy who will decide that."
