The 42nd annual NYC Marathon was not stopped by the vicious storm that struck the east coast this past weekend. As scheduled, on Nov 4 the NYC Marathon will begin at 9 a.m. ET.
There will be different times depending on the wave runners and the division each participant is a part of. There will be a Wheelchair Division for Men and Women starting at different times. Also, there is a separate division of Ambulatory Athletes with Disabilities and Slower Wheelchairs and Handcycles. You have the Professional Women, Professional Men, Sub-elite Men and Women, Local Competitive Men and Women.
Then the wave of other participants begins and waves will be launching until 10:55 a.m. ET.

For those trying to see the race, click here to see the map route of the 2012 NYC Marathon.
The NYC Marathon will launch from its brief stay in Staten Island, where competitors will immediately take the Verrazano Bridge into Brooklyn. The race will work its way up the west side of Brooklyn, cut into Brooklyn and make its first stop in Manhattan as racers will hop on the Queensborough Bridge.
They will then go up the east side of Manhattan and go into the Bronx, briefly, before making its return into Manhattan where it will close out in Central Park. It will conclude on the west side around 66th Street.

The 2012 NYC Marathon will be televised on ESPN2. TV coverage will begin at 7 a.m. ET.
