Chicago Bears
Matt Forte (Running Back): Forte is one of the elite running backs in this league but will have a tough matchup against the Lions defense. Forte should see plenty of snaps and probably a few receptions given the health of Alshon Jeffery. If Jeffery misses another game Forte could be the main receiving target.
Martellus Bennett (Tight End): Bennett is still among one of the best tight ends to start week in and week out. The absence of Alshon Jeffery has left a ton of targets to be had; Bennett should be one of the top benefactors of this.
Detroit Lions
Calvin Johnson/Golden Tate (Wide Receiver): Johnson has a great matchup, but how can he possibly take advantage of it with the way this Lions offense has performed so far. The Lions have had trouble establishing the run and this leads to trouble especially for triple covered receivers such as Johnson. The Bears may look like a good matchup but be wary as Johnson has been noticeably slower and less productive this season. Tate might be the better performer this week as Johnson continues to struggle. Tate is going up against a bad secondary and won't draw their top defender. Tate should have a productive day if Matt Stafford remembers how to throw a completion.
Ameer Abdullah/Zach Zenner/Theo Riddick (Running Backs): Abdullah fumbled twice and was subsequently benched for the combination of Zenner and Riddick. Riddick saw the most benefit from Abdullah's benching but it is hard to imagine that the Lions would give up on such a strong running back in his rookie season. The starter here is unclear but each back is worth a flex play against the Bears.
