Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov has high hopes for his team and has set a high standard to be achieved for their first season in Brooklyn.
To Prokhorov a successful debut season for his team would include a deep run in the post season.
"A conference final," he said.
The Russian billionaire also stated his belief in point guard Deron Williams, proclaiming him the league's best point guard.
"I think he's the best point guard in the league. And he is really a leader," Prokhorov said. "And I think he needs the right team."
The Nets haven't made the playoffs since 2007 and are tied with the Timberwolves for the worst record in the NBA over the last three seasons. But they handed out roughly $330 million in guaranteed contracts over the summer, highlighted by Williams' five-year, $98 million deal
They're set to eclipse the luxury tax for at least the next three years, but unlike most NBA owners, Prokhorov said he's willing to pay penalties.
He also stated his expectations to achieving his goal of being a championship team by winning a title by 2015.
"I'm the most devoted guy for the championship to happen," said the 47-year-old.
