Fantasy Football Week 7 Recap: Philadelphia Eagles at Carolina Panthers, Greg Olsen, Cam Newton, DeMarco Murray, Ryan Mathews, Miles Austin, Jonathan Stewart

Philadelphia Eagles

Jordan Matthews/Miles Austin (Wide Receiver): Matthews is apparently dealing with a torn ligament in his hand however he dropped a ton of passes on Sunday. Matthews went 3 of 7 from the field only gaining 14 yards. If his indeed dealing with a torn ligament it will be hard for him to be more effective than he already has been. Austin also struggled from the field only hauling in 2 out of 3 targets for 22 yards.

DeMarco Murray/Ryan Mathews (Running Backs): Murray came back down to earth this week even though he had 18 carries. Murray only gained 65 yards and caught 2 out of his 4 targets for 5 yards. It was Ryan Mathews who dominated the stat sheet even with only 6 carries. Mathews gained 97 yards, a touchdown and had 3 catches for 24 yards in Sunday Night's game. That level of production on so few carries may implore Chip Kelly to begin to start Mathews instead.

Carolina Panthers

Cam Newton (Quarterback): Newton had an ugly day from the field but still got the W. Newton threw 3 picks however his wide receivers were at fault for 2 of them. At the end of the day Newton only completed 14 out of 24 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown but also had 4 carries for 20 yards and a touchdown.

Jonathan Stewart (Running Back): Stewart has come alive as the Panthers work horse running back. Stewart had 24 carries for 125 yards. He will continue to be a low level RB2 going into week 8.

Ted Ginn (Wide Receiver): Ted Ginn was Cam Newton's primary target as he hauled in 5 out of 8 targets for 59 yards and had 1 carry that went for 43 yards. Ginn will be a spotty WR4 for the remainder of the season.

Greg Olsen (Tight End): Olsen had a quiet week only hauling in 3 out of his 5 targets for 65 yards. Olsen will continue to see a healthy amount of targets but game flow and Newton's legs continue to hinder him from regularly getting into the end zone.
