The Seattle Sounders won over the Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS Cup Playoffs on Wednesday night and the team now advances into the next round of the postseason. The New England Revolution lost to DC United and now DC has advanced out of the knockout round.

Seattle won the match 3-2 over the Galaxy, while United won 2-1 against the Revolution and now those teams will get the chance to play on in the playoffs. Erik Friberg scored the winning goal for the Sounders and the team also got goals from Clint Dempsey and Nelson Valdez in the game. Friberg added the winner at the 73rd minute to help give Seattle the victory and LA got goals from Sebastian Lletget and Gyasi Zardes.

The first 20 minutes of the game saw four goals and things settled down before Friberg added his goal in the second half. The team has the roster to make a run and now they have the chance in the playoffs and will take on Vancouver in the next round. LA won the title last year and that means there will be a new champion this season for the MLS Cup. Seattle won at home at CenturyLink Field with a full crowd and they could make some noise in the playoffs.

DC won over New England and the team got a goal from Chris Pontius early before Chris Rolfe was able to add the eventual winner. DC now plays Columbus in the next round and they are into the Eastern Conference Semifinals. New England made a run at the end but they could not get another goal to tie things up.
