Tottenham Hotspur have been far from convincing in the Europa League so far, registering draws in all three of their matches.
With Slovenian side NK Maribor visiting White Hart Lane on Thursday, Andre Villas-Boas' side will be keen to pick up their first victory of the campaign. Spurs are currently third on three points from three matches, with Lazio and Maribor ahead of them on five and four points respectively. Panathinaikos are bottom on two points.
Spurs eked out a 1-1 draw against the same side a couple of weeks ago, after Gylfi Sigurdsson equalized to salvage a point. Tottenham assistant manager Steffen Freund is hoping for a quick start from his side this time around.
"First of all, it's up to us to start well, to put them under pressure, to keep possession high up the pitch and create chances," he said. "Then, the goal will come.
"If we're struggling a little, if we can't create or score early, then we need the supporters. They have been fantastic.
"We know it will be another difficult game for us. It's also the chance to turn everything around in a positive way because we have three draws (in the group) and if we beat Maribor, we will definitely be at least second, unbeaten with six points. That would be great."
Jake Livermore has been added to the squad after missing the weekend's game due to injury, but Sandro and Moussa Dembele are ruled out. "Jake returned to training today (Wednesday) after the knock he picked up in the Norwich game," manager Villas-Boas said.
"He is still showing some discomfort, but we've included him in the squad selection and we'll decide tomorrow."
"We have a game that can decide how this group is going to end," Villas-Boas added. "We are struggling with injuries but we are not in a position to spare anybody as tomorrow is a must-win game. Maribor have been doing well. They have a winning mentality as they have been champions in their country. They are well-run, well-organised and a competitive side."
