NFL News: San Diego Chargers Likely Lose Keenan Allen For Season After Getting Injured

The San Diego Chargers have suffered a massive blow to their offense as Keenan Allen has a lacerated kidney and will likely be put on IR.

Allen suffered the injury in Sunday's brutal game against the Ravens where now both star wide receivers on each team suffered a season ending injury. Allen has reeled in 67 passes this season which is the 2nd in the NFL.

Allen is the focal point of the Chargers offense and often draws the best defensive back or a double team which allows the Chargers supporting cast to get open.

Now with Allen out the Chargers will rely heavily on Stevie Johnson and Malcom Floyd who had a strong game taking over for Allen when he was knocked out of the game. Johnson has had his injury issues this year as well; he is just returning from a hamstring that cost the Chargers one of their most productive players on offense. He will absolutely need to stay healthy if the Chargers hope to win games. In terms of post season hope this is the Chargers nail in the coffin.

At 2-6 the Chargers would have needed a monstrous run to get to the postseason in the first place, now without Allen that is next to near impossible.
