NFL Week 9 Fantasy Preview: St. Louis Rams at Minnesota Vikings, Todd Gurley, Adrian Peterson, Stefon Diggs

St. Louis Rams

Todd Gurley (Running Back): Gurley is one of the most explosive running backs in the NFL. He can start the game very quietly but in the blink of an eye will have at least 20 fantasy points. Gurley has to face a Vikings defense that has been stingy against the run however he will likely be a top 10 running back regardless of the opponent, if he could put up 100 rushing yards against Arizona, he can do it to anyone.

Tavon Austin (Wide Receiver): Austin will always find a way to put up decent points but realistically with Gurley in now he is a touchdown dependent WR3. Austin will be a questionable WR3 for his date with the Vikings who have given up the 8th fewest fantasy points to wide receivers this season.

Minnesota Vikings

Adrian Peterson (Running Back): Peterson has not scored a touchdown in 3 games which is somewhat unprecedented. He has not scored a touchdown against the Chiefs, Lions, and Bears which means that scoring against one of the best defenses in the league is almost an impossibility. Peterson should gain somewhere between 60 and 80 yards against this St. Louis defense.

Stefon Diggs (Wide Receiver): Diggs has become the number 1 wide receiver in this offense; he is averaging 9.5 targets in the last 4 games. Diggs will have a tough test against a St. Louis pass defense that allows 230 yards a week and has provided the 4th fewest points to wide receivers in the NFL. Diggs is a risky flex play.
