Best Fantasy Matchups for Week 9: Defenses, New England Patriots, Washington Redskins, St. Louis Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers

Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco 49ers: The Atlanta Falcons get a very favorable matchup against Blaine Gabbert and a broken 49ers offense. If Carlos Hyde were playing there may be some hope but given the injuries to the 3 primary running backs on this team the 49ers will look to start free agent acquisitions, Shaun Draughn and Pierre Thomas. Kendall Gaskins will also get a shot to carry the load against a defense that has given up 83.4 yards to running backs. The Falcons defense is primed for a big week, let's see if they can take advantage of this opportunity.

Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts: The Broncos defense is by far the best in the league. The Colts will be tested heavily, something that has not favored well for them this season. The Broncos have given up the fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. Statistically the Broncos have given up 89.3 yards per game to running backs making them fourth best in the league.  Denver also has an ultra-talented passing defense that has given up the fewest points to wide receivers this season. The Broncos should shut down the Colts all day long.

New England Patriots at Washington Redskins: The Patriots are going up against a Redskins team coming off of a major victory however the Patriots have not lost a game this season. No one should even entertain the idea of an upset here; the Patriots should control this game from start to finish.

St. Louis Rams at Minnesota Vikings: This one is a little bit worrisome because Adrian Peterson is on the opposing sideline. The Rams give up the 12th fewest points to running backs and currently have only allowed 3 touchdowns to running backs all season long. Peterson should see his fair share of carries but the Rams should keep him fairly contained. Teddy Bridgewater will be facing a defense that has given up the 2nd fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks and have sacked opposing quarterbacks 26 times, they are only second to the Broncos in that category. The Vikings should be overpowered on the offensive side of the ball leaving Todd Gurley to control the clock and time of possession for the Rams.
