NFL News: Colts Suffer Major Injury, Andrew Luck Out With Kidney Injury After Broncos Game

It has been speculated for some time now that Andrew Luck has been injured for the first half of the season. It appears he may miss the second half entirely with a serious injury. Luck apparently suffered a lacerated kidney during the Colt's final drive against the Denver Broncos.

He also tore some of an abdominal muscle. The injuries will not require surgery which is good but the recovery time looks to be for the rest of the Colts season.  Luck is expected to be sidelined anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks.

A lacerated kidney is also the same injury that forced Keenan Allen onto IR so the severity of the injury is notable.  The AFC is now officially up for grabs however Matt Hasselbeck has shown that he is good enough to lead the Colts to some big victories. The Colts will need more of that from him moving forward as they prepare for life without Andrew Luck.

With the quarterbacks surging in the AFC South as Blake Bortles and Marcus Mariota begin to find their rhythm it is possible that one of those younger teams begins to pile on a couple of wins to finish out the season. The Titans and Jaguars are only 2 games behind the Colts in the NFL playoff race.
