Green Bay Packers Rumors: James Starks Starts Over Eddie Lacy, Davante Adams, James Jones, Richard Rodgers Fantasy Sleepers For Aaron Rodgers

The Green Bay Packers are coming into Week 10 with Eddie Lacy dealing with an injury and that could make James Starks the better fantasy start option for the team on Sunday. Davante Adams had his best game of the season in Week 9, while players like James Jones and Richard Rodgers could be solid picks for Aaron Rodgers this week against the Lions.

The Packers have lost two straight games to undefeated teams and now the team will be playing against the worst team in the league (by record) in the Lions. The Packers lost to the Broncos two weeks ago (Denver is no longer undefeated, but they were in that game) and on Sunday the team lost to Cam Newton and the Panthers. Aaron Rodgers was critical of himself after the game and he said that he is going to work on improving the redzone offense and third down offense for the Packers heading into next week.

Lacy had to leave the game against the Panthers on Sunday with a groin injury and he only had five carries by that point for 10 yards. The Packers have been using the hot hand at running back lately and in recent weeks it has been Starks that has been more consistent. The Packers want to get Eddie Lacy "going," according to ESPN, as offensive coordinator Edgar Bennett said the team needs to do a better job of getting Lacy in better running situations.

UPDATE: Starks is the lead back for the Packers in Week 10, as Mike McCarthy said he will start.

The groin injury could be a lingering one and if Lacy is limited in practice this week, fantasy owners should consider using Starks over him. Lacy has just 308 yards this season in eight games and he has not had a 100-yard game. Lacy has dealt with injuries and inconsistency this season and Starks right now looks like a better bet for the back stretch of the season and the game against the Lions.

Starks comes in after having a big game against the Panthers with 122 total yards and he now has 334 yards rushing to lead the Packers. Starks also added six catches for 83 yards and a touchdown in the game against the Panthers and he will come into Week 10 as the lead back even if Lacy can play based on how the Panthers game went. Starks is averaging 4.3 yards per carry this season and he should be considered the more consistent option right now for fantasy owners.

Davante Adams had his best game of the season against the Packers, going for seven catches for 93 yards in the loss. Adams has been dealing with injuries this season and he now has 17 catches in five games after coming into the season as a potential breakout player. Adams started the game in Week 8 and played 52 snaps and he once again was a solid option behind Randall Cobb and James Jones on Sunday and looks like he is finally ready to be a fantasy contributor this season. James Jones and Richard Rodgers have also played well and they could be sleeper picks for this week against a weak Lions team.
