Baltimore Ravens Rumors: Kamar Aiken Fantasy Pickup Option, Justin Forsett Starter For Joe Flacco Week 11, Breshad Perriman Out For Season

The Baltimore Ravens have placed Breshad Perriman on injured reserve, ending the season for the rookie and that makes Kamar Aiken the top fantasy option for Baltimore the rest of the season at wide receiver. Justin Forsett has been the most consistent starter for Joe Flacco this season and with Steve Smith and now Perriman out, Aiken is the number one option at the position.

The Ravens had high hopes for Perriman, who was a first round pick out of Central Florida in the draft. Perriman was one of the fastest receivers in this draft class, but his season did not get going for the Ravens after dealing with a knee injury. According to Pro Football Talk, the team announced last week that Perriman was placed on injured reserve, ending his season without the wideout getting on the field in a regular season game for the Ravens.

The Ravens lost Steve Smith already to a season ending injury and the team had hoped that Perriman could come back at some point later in the season to help the offense. Clearly that is not happening and now Perriman will work on getting healthy to start 2016. Perriman has been out for the Ravens since injuring his PCL in training camp and he later had surgery to help clean out the knee. Perriman tried to get back to practice for the Ravens, but he was not able to stay healthy and now he is shut down.

Aiken has been stepping up since Smith went down and he comes into Week 11 after making seven catches for 73 yards against the Jaguars. Aiken had 14 targets in the game and that is a promising number for fantasy owners and he should continue being the number one target for Flacco this season. Aiken has 32 catches for 406 yards this season and two touchdowns and over the past two games he has put up 13 catches for the Ravens.

Forsett has been putting together a strong season and he comes in after rushing for 53 yard against the Jaguars. Forsett has 615 rushing yards this season and he has also added 31 catches out of the backfield. Forsett dealt with some injuries earlier in the season, but he has been healthy for fantasy owners over the past month.

Perriman spoke about his injury to CSN Mid-Atlantic and said that he should be ready to come back next season healthy. Perriman said he thinks he'll "be fine now. It's healing very well" and that he will come back "harder" and "hungrier than ever." Smith reportedly is considering retirement and that makes Perriman coming back healthy even more important for the Ravens next season. Perriman said that his knee injury is not a chronic issue and that the time off into next year should help him get to 100 percent.
