The Cleveland Cavaliers will make their first trip to the brand new Barclays Center in Brooklyn Tuesday when they face the Brooklyn Nets at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Cavs are coming off three straight losses, but have gotten solid play from its young backcourt, led by second-year point guard Kyrie Irving and rookie Dion Waiters.
Irving is averaging 22.9 points per game, along with 6.3 assists and 4.1 rebounds. Through his first seven NBA games, Waiters has averaged 15.4 points, though much of that output came in two earlier games this season in which he scored 23 and 28 points.
Anderson Varejao anchors the Cleveland frontcourt with 12.7 points and 13 rebounds per game this season.
Meanwhile, for the Nets, Brook Lopez has been the team's leading scorer, averaging 16.4 points per game.
Point guard Deron Williams is averaging only 16.0 points per game, but he leads the Nets with 7.2 assists per game. Newly acquired Joe Johnson has failed to deliver the scoring prowess that made him a six-time All-Star. In five games, Johnson has averaged just 13.6 points per game.
