NFL Rumors and Injury Updates Week 12: Marshawn Lynch Surgery, Tony Romo Collarbone, Devonta Freeman Concussion, Danny Amendola, Allen Hurns

The NFL injury report heading into the Week 12 has names like Marshawn Lynch, Tony Romo, Devonta Freeman, Danny Amendola and Allen Hurns dealing with injury issues. Romo was injured on Thursday and could miss the rest of the regular season, while Marshawn Lynch underwent surgery and also could be out for a long stretch.

Marshawn Lynch has been dealing with an abdominal injury and the running back underwent sports hernia surgery this week, according to Pro Football Talk. Ian Rapoport at NFL.com reports that the surgery was successful and "went fine" and that the Seahawks think that Lynch can return by the end of December. Thomas Rawls has stepped up this season when Lynch has been out and he had another big game last week with Lynch on the sidelines.

The Seahawks are 5-5 this season and they are hoping that Lynch can return before the regular season ends. Lynch likely would be able to return for the playoffs, but Seattle is still battling to get into postseason position in the NFC. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said that he is "pretty confident" that Lynch will be able to return this season.

Tony Romo was injured against the Detroit Lions on Thursday and the Dallas Cowboys quarterback could potentially miss the rest of the regular season. According to ESPN.com, Ed Werder reports that Romo re-injured his shoulder and there is a good chance he will be out for the rest of the year. Pro Football Talk reports that there is a "slim chance" that Romo could return again this season.

Devonta Freeman is dealing with a concussion heading into Week 12 and the Falcons are preparing as if he will be out for the game against the Vikings. Freeman has been one of the leading rushers in the NFL this season and if he is out, Tevin Coleman will start. Freeman did not practice on Thursday and that is not a good sign for the running back.

Allen Hurns is coming into the week dealing with thigh and foot injuries, but he should be good to go for Week 12. The Jaguars played on Thursday night and that gave Hurns some extra time to rest into Sunday. Hurns has been one of the best surprises in the NFL this season and he comes in with 44 catches for 716 yards and seven touchdowns.

Danny Amendola is coming into the weekend with a knee injury and he could be limited or out on Sunday for the Patriots. Amendola was able to practice on a limited basis on Thursday after being out on Wednesday, according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe. The Patriots have already lost Julian Edelman to a foot injury and with Aaron Dobson also banged up, Amendola has become the number one target for Tom Brady.
