Washington Redskins Rumors: Matt Jones Fantasy Start Option Over Alfred Morris For Kirk Cousins Week 12, Chris Culliver Tears ACL

The Washington Redskins are looking to bounce back in Week 12 against the Giants after a bad loss on Sunday and Kirk Cousins will need players like Alfred Morris, Matt Jones and DeSean Jackson to step up on offense. The Redskins defense has lost a key player, as Chris Culliver reportedly tore his ACL and will be out for the season.

The Redskins are coming into Week 12 after being blown out by the Panthers and they will try and rebound against the Giants. The Eagles and the Cowboys both lost on Thanksgiving and that gives the Redskins the chance to make up some ground with a game against the division leading Giants. New York is just 5-5 and a win would be huge for the Redskins as they try and stay in the playoff race. The Giants come in after a bye week, which followed a last-minute loss against the New England Patriots.

The Redskins offense was dominated last week in the 44-16 loss against Carolina and Matt Jones had a tough game, losing a fumble and gaining zero rushing yards. But Jones remains a solid fantasy option for the Redskins, as head coach Jay Gruden said that he still has confidence in Jones and he has consistently been getting more touches than Morris, who suffered a rib injury last week. Gruden told CSN Washington that the team has "total faith" in Jones despite the fumbling issues.

Jones has had double digit carries in three of the past four games prior to the Panthers loss, while Morris has had it in two of the past four, but one of those came in garbage time against the Saints. Morris has been inconsistent this season and he comes in dealing with a rib injury, although he was able to practice in full this week for Washington. Morris had two carries for zero yards last week before leaving with the rib injury. Kirk Cousins is coming in after completing 22-of-30 passes for 207 yards, a touchdown, one interception and two lost fumbles and will be looking to rebound.

The Redskins defense will have to deal with the loss of Chris Culliver after the cornerback suffered a torn ACL. According to John Keim at ESPN, Culliver suffered a torn ACL in practice on Thursday and will be out for the year. Culliver previously signed a four-year, $32 million contract with the Redskins and missed one game with a suspension. The Redskins defense was just torched by Cam Newton and losing Culliver will make things tough against a solid Giants pass offense on Sunday.
