Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: Sam Bradford Starts Over Mark Sanchez Week 13? Ryan Mathews, Zach Ertz Concussions, Chip Kelly On Hot Seat?

The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to rebound in Week 13 after a tough loss and there is a chance that Sam Bradford could start for Mark Sanchez if he recovers from a shoulder injury. The team has Ryan Mathews and Zach Ertz dealing with concussions and this comes as Chip Kelly has been on the hot seat during a three-game losing streak for the Eagles.

Bradford has missed time with a concussion and a shoulder sprain, but it looks like he will get the chance to test out his arm and see how it has recovered. According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Les Bowen reports that Bradford has been cleared of his left shoulder AC joint sprain after previously being cleared out of the concussion protocol. Kelly said that Bradford will get the chance to throw on Tuesday to see if there is any "residual soreness" from the injury.

Bradford injured his non-throwing shoulder, but Kelly said that the team wants to see if there are any lingering issues and whether the shoulder is affecting Bradford when he throws. Mark Sanchez has been starting in place of Bradford and the Eagles have not looked great in his starts over the past two games, scoring 17 points and 14 points on offense against the Buccaneers and the Lions. Bradford's status for this week will likely be updated after practice on Tuesday.

Ryan Mathews and Zach Ertz have been dealing with concussion issues and both players missed the game last week on Thanksgiving. CSNPhilly.com reports that Mathews remains in the concussion protocol and has not been cleared to play yet for Week 13, while Ertz has "advanced," but has also not been cleared yet. Both players should be considered questionable at this point for the game against the Patriots.

Kelly has been getting some criticism from many in the media over the past few weeks with the Eagles dealing with a losing streak and there has been some speculation that he could be out in 2016. Kelly has consistently denied interest in other coaching jobs when his name has come up and so far it does not seem like owner Jeffery Lurie is leaning towards pushing Kelly out.

Pro Football Talk reports that the Titans potentially could be interested in Kelly and also that Howie Roseman could see more work in football operations after he was pushed out for Kelly this offseason. Kelly the GM has made some questionable moves and that could spark some changes for next season, even if Kelly stays in Philly.

The Eagles defense has been struggling over the past two weeks and now the team is dealing with an injury, as Nolan Carroll has been placed on injured reserve. According to Pro Football Talk, the Eagles announced that Carroll suffered a broken ankle on Thanksgiving and now he will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season. Carroll previously started all 11 games for the Eagles and now the team will have to replace him on defense after Carroll put up two interceptions and 57 tackles this season.
