The New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 104-100 Thursday night as they came back to win this game avoiding their first loss of the season. Thanks to threes by Jason Kidd, they were able to overcome a double-digit deficit late in the game.
Kidd went 5-8 from the floor and four of these shots were three pointers which helped push the Knicks to victory and extend their lead with 1:02 left to play.
By that point, the Knicks had already taken the lead on a three by J.R. Smith.
Kidd finished with 14 points and Smith had 17 off the bench.
Raymond Felton was the star of the night as he had the game-high with 25 points and seven assists. He went 10-20 from the floor and 2-4 from three.
The Knicks came back from a 12-point deficit with just over seven minutes left to play in the game.
San Antonio had six players in double figures. Tony Parker, led the Spurs in scoring with 19 points. Tim Duncan had 14 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks.
Carmelo Anthony only had nine points, but he finished with 12 rebounds and three assists. He was off shooting, but he was able to rely on his team as it took the entire Knicks team, including those in the bench, to chip in this victory.
Every Knick player available finished with at least a field goal in this one.
The 6-0 Knicks take on another tough Western Conference team in the Memphis Grizzlies. The Spurs will look to bounce back versus the Denver Nuggets.
