NFL Rumors: Urban Meyer Not Interested In Cleveland Browns Job, Wants to Remain With Ohio State Buckeyes

Ohio State Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer is happy in Columbus with his current job, at least according to Urban Meyer. A recent report from the website Chat Sports said that the Browns were looking to hire Meyer and make him one of the highest-paid coaches in football, but Meyer downplayed that over the weekend in a statement.

According to Tim May at the Columbus Dispatch, Meyer said through a statement released by Ohio State that he has "no interest" in any other jobs. Meyer is often linked to open jobs throughout football after his previous jumps from Utah to Florida to television to Ohio State. According to Chat Sports, "sources" said that the Browns are planning to fire Mike Pettine and want to offer Meyer the "largest coaching contract in NFL history."

Meyer led the Buckeyes to the national title last season and has lost just four games since taking over as head coach. The Browns are 2-9 this season and have lost six straight games heading into the matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

The statement from the school read: "I am proud and honored to be the head football coach at The Ohio State University," Meyer said. "I have no interest whatsoever in any other position outside of my job coaching the Buckeyes."
