The NFL injury report heading into Week 14 has updates for Rob Gronkowski, Charcandrick West, CJ Anderson, Tyler Eifert, Carlos Hyde, Marshawn Lynch, Ryan Mathews, Travis Benjamin and Karlos Williams. Gronkowski is out with a knee injury and may not be ready to return yet, while Lynch still has a few more weeks of recovery time after having surgery.
The Kansas City Chiefs got a boost on Sunday with the return of Charcandrick West and he appeared fully recovered from his hamstring injury. West ended up playing more snaps than Spencer Ware in Week 13 and moving forward he should be the starter again as long as his injury does crop back up. Gronkowski is reportedly going to be out for another week, while CJ Anderson is coming in with an ankle injury, but it is not considered serious.
Ryan Mathews was out with a concussion last week and according to the Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News, Mathews could return to practice this week. Mathews is expected to get cleared this week and he could be a solid option with the Eagles pushing DeMarco Murray down on the depth chart for the time being. Mathews has 427 rushing yards this season in nine games. Travis Benjamin is dealing with a shoulder injury and according to Mike Pettine, the receiver is "day to day" with the injury.
Rob Gronkowski missed Week 13 with a knee injury and he could be out again in Week 14. Adam Schefter was on NFL Live and said that Gronkowski is "unlikely" to play this week and that means Scott Chandler could start again. Gronkowski is considered "week to week" and the tight end said he will return when he is 100 percent healthy. The Patriots basically have the AFC East locked up, so the team may not want to rush Gronkowski back before he is ready.
Charcandrick West returned for the Chiefs and ended up playing over half the snaps on offense for Kansas City. The team is planning to use both West and Ware mobbing forward, but West looks like he will be getting the majority of the touches. Marshawn Lynch is expected to miss about a month after having surgery and the Seahawks are hoping that he can return by the end of the season or the playoffs. The team is currently in playoff position and getting Lynch back would be a huge boost.
Tyler Eifert missed this week against the Browns for the Bengals with a neck injury and he could be out again next week. CJ Anderson has an ankle injury, but the running back said to the Denver Post that he does not think that the injury is serious. Anderson should be fine to start Week 14. Karlos Williams is dealing with a shoulder injury and according to the Buffalo News, Rex Ryan said it's a "possibility" that Williams could play in Week 14. Carlos Hyde is likely going to be out for the season with a foot injury.
