The Miami Dolphins likely will have DeVante Parker in the starting lineup in Week 14 with Rishard Matthews and Kenny Stills dealing with injuries on the offensive side of the ball. The team plays the Giants on Monday night and it comes after the team pulled out a close win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Parker has been getting more playing time over the last few weeks with injuries to Matthews and Stills and he could see more snaps on Monday. Matthews was out last week with a rib injury after taking a hard hit against the New York Jets the previous week, while Stills came into the game dealing with an ankle injury and played limited snaps. According to the Miami Herald, Armando Salguero reports that Matthews is expected to miss another week and that could mean an increase in snaps for Parker.
Parker started off the season slow after having foot surgery during the summer, which caused him to miss nearly all of training camp and the preseason. Parker needed time to catch up and now he is taking advantage of his opportunity, scoring touchdowns in each of the past two games. Parker did not register a catch from Week 4 until Week 12 of the season and over the past two games he has seven catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Parker is a solid fantasy option for the back stretch with the Dolphins dealing with injuries.
Jarvis Landry has been the best wide receiver for the Dolphins this season, but Landry was reportedly a bit frustrated on Sunday against the Ravens. According to Adam Beasley at the Miami Herald, Landry "threw his helmet" and had a sideline outburst during the game against the Ravens and "vented" about the offensive struggles for the team on Sunday. Landry had a previous issue with LaMichael James before the season started when the two got into a fight and the latest outburst came during a game when Landry recorded just two catches for five yards.
Jay Ajayi could be a sleeper option this week behind Lamar Miller, as the Giants rush defense has not been very good this season and that could mean a big game for the running backs. Ajayi has been solid over the past few weeks and he comes in after putting up a 5.5 yards per carry average in the five games he has played this season. Ajayi is a high upside option as an RB3 or Flex pick for fantasy owners.
The Dolphins also made some roster moves heading into the week, as the team website reports that the team re-signed Brandon Williams and waived safety Jordan Kovacs. Williams previously appeared in four games for the Dolphins this season before being waived in December and now he is signed back to the team. The Dolphins now will take on the Giants in Week 14 on Monday night football.
