Dwight Howard Doesn't Care If His Trade To The Lakers Hurt His Friendship With Deron Williams

Due to the circus that was known as the "Dwightmare", All-Star center Dwight Howard lost many supporters this summer after his prolonged trade rumors. But despite talking about playing together for years, Howard doesn't care if his relationship with Deron Williams has been effected.

According to the New York Daily News, Howard had this to say:

"It's my life so if he's upset because I made a decision for me, so be it," Howard said. "If he doesn't want to be friends because I'm on another team, then so be it. There's no need to smooth things over."

For years the two have plotted to join forces in Brooklyn, but Howard's decision to waive his right to become a free agent last March all but killed those dreams.

Howard's desire to keep everybody happy landed him with the Los Angeles Lakers and not with his first choice the Brooklyn Nets.

Though Howard is only locked in with the Lakers for this season, he declined to discuss on his desire to play in Brooklyn any further.

"I'm here now in L.A. there's no need to talk about what could have happened. I'm happy with being here in L.A.," Howard said. "The fans have always been great here. Now that I'm on the team the fans, from Day 1, they've just been unbelievable to me and to this team.

"It really doesn't matter at this point (why I demanded a trade to Brooklyn). There's no need to talk about the past. I'm happy being a Laker. This is the best situation for me and what I need to move forward."
