Best Sports Moments of the Year 2015 List: Patriots-Seahawks Super Bowl, American Pharoah Wins Triple Crown, Michigan-Michigan State Punt, Packers Hail Mary, Odell Beckham Catch

The year of 2015 saw some amazing sports moments and some of the best include the American Pharoah winning the Triple Crown and the Super Bowl between the Patriots and the Seahawks.

American Pharoah ended the streak of over three decades without a Triple Crown winner, while the Super Bowl ended in dramatic fashion with a last-second interception by the Patriots. Some of the other best sports moments of the year include the end of the Michigan-Michigan State game, Aaron Rodgers and his Hail Mary for the Packers and another amazing catch from Odell Beckham.

Here is a look at some of the top moments

American Pharoah wins the Triple Crown

American Pharoah captured the hearts of horse racing fans this year and the horse became the first to win the Triple Crown title in 37 years. American Pharoah pulled away and won the Belmont Stakes to add a third win after taking the Preakness and the Kentucky Derby. Pharaoh became the first to win the Triple Crown since Affirmed did it back in 1978 and it came after a number of horses won two but could not complete the achievement over the years.

The Michigan-Michigan State punt to end the game

Jim Harbaugh and Michigan were in position to upset Michigan State and possibly make a run to the Big Ten title and all they had to do was have punter Blake O'Neill catch the ball and make a kick. But sometimes the easiest and most routine plays are the toughest ones to make. O'Neill bobbled the snap and that allowed Michigan State's Jalen Watts-Jackson to score the winning touchdown. The game is even more dramatic and wild in retrospect, as Michigan State went on to win the Big Ten title and now will play against Alabama in the College Football Playoff.

Patriots win the Super Bowl, Malcolm Butler interception

The Seattle Seahawks had the ball down at the goal line and with one of the back backs in football in the backfield in Marshawn Lynch, everyone was expecting the team to run the ball. But Russell Wilson went for a slant play and Malcolm Butler made one of the most memorable Super Bowl plays of all-time, picking off the pass and helping seal the game for the Patriots.

Aaron Rodgers throws an amazing Hail Mary to beat the Lions

The Packers won over the Lions in a wild Thursday night football game after Aaron Rodgers threw a Hail Mary that was caught by tight end Richard Rodgers. The play came as the Packers made a comeback from 20-points down and helped the team stay in playoff contention. Rodgers and the Packers had a final play in the fourth quarter down 23-21 after a penalty and with the ball around their own 40-yard line, Rodgers heaved a pass into the end zone. Richard Rodgers somehow was allowed to get his hands on the ball by the Lions, giving the Packers a stunning victory.

Odell Beckham catch against the Redskins

Odell Beckham made one of the best catches of all-time last year against the Cowboys and this season he put up another impressive play with a touchdown against the Washington Redskins. Beckham was able to push the ball with one hand in the end zone as he made a sideline catch, cradling the ball with his right hand after bringing it in with his left. Beckham was able to turn his body to stay in-bounds and kept control, giving the Giants a TD in the game.
