NFL Free Agent Preview 2016 Offense: Matt Forte, Sam Bradford, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Chris Ivory, Kirk Cousins, Alshon Jeffery, Doug Martin Targets

The NFL free agent class for 2016 has some notable offensive players potentially hitting the market, including Matt Forte, Sam Bradford, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Chris Ivory, Kirk Cousins, Alshon Jeffery, Lamar Miller, Doug Martin, Andre Smith, Anquan Boldin, Brock Osweiler, Cordy Glenn and Russell Okung.

The quarterback position is expected to be a main focus for teams this offseason, as 10-15 teams could be in the market for new starters in 2016. Kirk Cousins, Sam Bradford and Ryan Fitzpatrick along with Brock Osweiler are headed towards free agency, while players like Johnny Manziel, Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III could be trade targets. The draft has some strong prospects this year, but many teams may not want the uncertainty of a college player and could go after established veterans.

Cousins and Fitzpatrick both had strong seasons and could cash in with new contracts, while Bradford is finishing out his rookie deal and could be the top free agent target for teams. Osweiler is expected to remain with the Broncos (and John Elway is expected to try hard to make that happen) but there is a chance he could leave if another team promises him the chance to start. The Redskins have expressed interest in keeping Cousins on a new deal, while Fitzpatrick played well enough for the Jets to reward him with another contract if he wants to stay.

The running back position is one to watch, as there are some notable names that could be available like Doug Martin, Lamar Miller, Chris Ivory and Matt Forte. Forte is not expected to be back with the Bears after the team did not engage in contract talks last year and while he is getting on the wrong side of 30, Forte has been one of the most productive backs in the league in his career and should have some suitors. Miller is coming off of a solid season and should be a top target, while the Buccaneers have reportedly expressed interest in keeping Martin with a new deal.

Martin finished second in the league in rushing yards this season and that could push his price tag up for the Buccaneers. Martin dealt with injury issues over the last two years after a stellar rookie season and he bounced back in a big way in 2015. Alshon Jeffery, Anquan Boldin and Travis Benjamin are available at the WR position and those players could be targets for numerous teams in need of help at receiver.

Jeffery is expected to return to the Bears, but after having a season filled with injury issues, there is always a chance he could leave Chicago. Benjamin had a strong season for the Browns despite all of their QB issues and he could be a second-tier target for teams. Boldin is in his mid-30s but remains a productive option.

The offensive line also should be a big positional target for teams this offseason, as players like Cordy Glenn, Russell Okung and Andre Smith could be available. Glenn could be an option for the franchise tag for the Bills, while Okung could return to Seattle. Smith should be a priority for the Bengals, but there is chance he could sign elsewhere.
