The NBA injury report coming into the week has updates for players like Kobe Bryant, Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis, Bradley Beal, Mike Conley, Derrick Favors, Omri Casspi, Mike Dunleavy, D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle.
The Washington Wizards are hoping to have Bradley Beal back soon, as the Washington Post reports that the guard could be cleared for contact work soon. The Lakers have Kobe Bryant, D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and Brandon Bass banged up and all four players could be game time decisions against the Pelicans on Tuesday. According to the Los Angeles Daily News, Bryant is questionable with an Achilles issue, while Russell, Randle and Bass are probable to play against New Orleans.
Mike Conley is dealing with an Achilles issue for the Grizzlies and NBA.com reports that Conley is questionable for the matchup against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night. Conley had been wearing a walking boot and did not play on Friday or Sunday for Memphis and he may be out again on Tuesday night. If he is out, expect Mario Chalmers to get work at point guard for Memphis.
Anthony Davis is coming into the game against the Lakers on Tuesday listed as questionable for the Pelicans, according to the team website. Davis is dealing with a back injury and could sit out after not playing against the Clippers on Sunday. Davis suffered a back contusion on Friday night and if he is out, Ryan Anderson could see extended minutes for the Pelicans. Davis has been averaging 22 points and 10 rebounds per game this season.
Beal has been out since last month and the Post reports that Beal could start contact work in practice with the team as soon as "tomorrow," although Beal likely will have a minutes restriction when he finally returns. Beal travelled with the team on the latest road trip and said that he could be back in "about a week" for the team.
Blake Griffin remains out for the Clippers, but head coach Doc Rivers said to the media over the weekend that Griffin should start working out a bit more soon. According to the LA Times, Griffin has started working out on a zero-gravity treadmill after dealing with a quad injury and has continued to make progress in his recovery and will see a doctor sometime over the next week for an update. The Clippers are hoping that Griffin can return over the next couple of weeks.
Derrick Favors sat out against the Lakers on Sunday despite working out during pre-game warm-ups. Favors is dealing with a back injury and has sat out the last 10 games for the Jazz. Omri Casspi is dealing with a back injury and after not playing on Sunday, the forward is expected to be back in the lineup on Wednesday for the Kings.
