Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Joey Bosa, Laquon Treadwell, Ezekiel Elliott NFL Draft Targets? Dez Bryant Surgery Successful

The Dallas Cowboys have a top five pick in the draft this year and players like Joey Bosa, Laquon Treadwell, Ezekiel Elliott and DeForest Buckner could be potential targets for Jerry Jones. The Cowboys will likely draft a quarterback at some point to develop behind Tony Romo and names like Goff, Paxton Lynch or Connor Cook could be options.

The Cowboys had a tough season in 2015 while going 4-12 and the main reasons for the struggles last year were injuries to Tony Romo and Dez Bryant. Romo missed most of the season with a collarbone injury, while Bryant was out for the first half with foot surgery. If the Cowboys had some better play from the backup QB position, there is a chance they could have made the playoffs. Romo has already said that he has no issues if the Cowboys draft a QB and many around the NFL expect the team to do that.

The Cowboys have the number four overall pick in the draft and while that spot could be used for a quarterback, there is a good chance the Cowboys wait until a later round to make a selection at that position. Mel Kiper Jr. speculates that the Browns will take Goff at number two, leaving the Cowboys to either take Lynch or wait and he thinks they will wait. Kiper's first mock has DeForest Buckner going at number four, the Cowboys need some help on the defensive line.

The team likely is not bringing back Greg Hardy and that could open things up for someone in the draft, even after the team took Randy Gregory last year. Joey Bosa is likely going to be a top three pick, but if he gets past the Titans, Browns and Chargers, expect the Cowboys to make that move. Kiper sees Bosa going number one overall and he is considered by many to be the top defensive player in the draft.

Laquon Treadwell is another potential option, as the Cowboys saw what happened when Bryant went down and may want a solid number two to pair alongside Bryant for the future. Treadwell had a record season for Ole Miss and could be a potential fit Bryant had foot surgery earlier in the season and PFT reports that last week he had additional surgery on his foot and ankle. Those injuries bothered Bryant down the stretch of the season and according to NFL.com, the procedures were successful.

According to Pro Football Talk, Jerry Jones said that the team is willing to take a risk on a young quarterback and that could mean in the draft or through a trade/signing. PFT speculates that Johnny Manziel and Robert Griffin could be potential options if the Cowboys don't feel there is a player in the draft they want to develop behind Romo.
