Philadelphia Eagles News: How Much Did Sam Bradford Want For a Contract Extension? Will Eagles Re-Sign QB For 2016?

Sam Bradford's agent Tom Condon reportedly asked the Philadelphia Eagles for a $25 million per year extension. To put that into perspective Aaron Rodgers (you know that really good quarterback in Wisconsin) makes around $22 million a year.

This is ultimately why negotiations fell through prior to the start of the 2015 season. Bradford has stated that he has not felt 100 percent content in Philadelphia and that if an opportunity offering more money should present itself it would not be shocking to see him jump ship. Bradford also stated his decision hinges on who the Eagles selected as a head coach.

Immediately when Doug Pederson was named head coach he stated that he thinks Bradford has the "perfect skillset" for running one of his schemes. He also said that Bradford was a "top notch" quarterback. Here is the thing about that, Bradford's numbers are largely average. In Bradford's first season with Kelly he recorded a 65 percent completion rating, 3,725 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.

This is not a quarterback reminiscent of Aaron Rodgers or even for that matter Kirk Cousins. Bradford did improve as the season went on so it is likely he could find his way to an extension when things are all said and done. Bradford should be looking at a contract similar to Ryan Tannehill or Colin Kaepernick ($19-20 million a year).
