Tony Romo has made a decision in regards to his offseason plans, the Cowboys star quarterback will undergo surgery on his left collarbone if a CT scan he has later on in the week shows that his bone is still not fully healed.
If his bone has not yet returned to 100 percent naturally, Romo will have a metal plate put in to prevent future injury to his left collarbone. Romo's health will be tied with the Cowboys success until his successor is named.
With Romo slated to start another four years, and with how close the Cowboys have come to making it to the big dance it is no wonder that Romo would like to make sure that he remains on the field at all costs. The Dallas Cowboys went 1-11 without Romo so it would also be in the team's best interest if Romo did something to help his body prevent injury.
There would be a six to eight week recovery period for Romo after the surgery putting him at no real danger of missing any offseason workouts. The Cowboys are likely to be very prudent with Romo in practice/training camp for the 2016 season. The Cowboys Super Bowl hopes are tied with Romo and the quarterback wants to make sure he does everything in his power to stay on the football field.
