Cleveland Browns Rumors: Johnny Manziel Target For Cowboys, Texans? Travis Benjamin, Terrelle Pryor, Tashaun Gipson Return In Free Agency?

The Cleveland Browns potentially could move on from Johnny Manziel this offseason and teams like the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans could be potential landing spots if Manziel ends up out of Ohio. The Browns have Travis Benjamin, Terrelle Pryor and Tashaun Gipson hitting free agency and those players all potentially could return for 2016.

Manziel had an up and down season for the Browns in 2015 and while he showed some potential on the field, his off the field issues could keep him from succeeding in Cleveland. According to Pro Football Talk, Hue Jackson said said that "it's my opinion we need a quarterback" and that could mean the end of Johnny Manziel in Cleveland. NFL.com reports that the Cowboys and Texans could be potenital landing spots for Manziel if the Browns release or trade the quarterback.

ESPN reports that Jackson said to the team "that he would prefer the organization move on from Manziel if he were to become coach, and he was told that would not be a problem." Whether that happens or not, it looks like Manziel's days of starting in Cleveland are over with Jackson coming in. The team could consider a trade or the release of Manziel, but no decisions have been made yet. The team has Josh McCown and also the chance to draft a quarterback this year with the second overall pick.

The Browns have the chance to grab someone like Jared Goff, Carson Wentz or Paxton Lynch in the draft, as the team has the second overall pick in the draft. The Browns have other matters to deal with this offseason, including whether to keep certain free agents. Travis Benjamin, Terrelle Pryor and Tashaun Gipson are the top free agents hitting the market for the team and there is a good chance that Benjamin returns, while Pryor also could get a shot at making the team again.

Gipson had a solid season for the Browns, but ESPN Cleveland writes that there is a chance that the team will not make much of an effort to re-sign the safety. Last season Gipson had 42 tackles and two interceptions while playing in 13 games. Benjamin had a career season and showed some explosiveness as a return man. Benjamin set career highs with 68 catches for 966 yards and five touchdowns and according to Rotoworld, Benjamin and the Browns are about "75 to 80 percent" of the way in getting a new deal done.
