New York Giants News and Rumors: JPP Should Have Plenty Of Options In Free Agency, NY Return Possible?

The New York Giants will have a very tough decision to make as free agency approaches. Jason Pierre-Paul will likely command some attention on the open market however thanks in part to a fireworks mishap JPP has been left without the full use of one of his hands.

JPP was the Giants most important pass rusher and one of the keys to their future, now they must look to find some play makers in the draft and start from square one. The Giants regardless will not spend a ton of money on JPP after his accident after they were hesitant to pay him before. JPP has been with the Giants since 2010 and is only 27 years old.

He played in 83 out of a possible 96 games and thanks to his injury he could only play in 8 games in 2015. He recorded 26 combined tackles, a sack, and 6 pass defenses. In his career for the Gmen JPP is way more impressive as he has amassed 312 combined tackles, 43 sacks, a safety, 34 passes defended, 2 interceptions, 2 defensive touchdowns, and 8 forced fumbles.

The Giants will likely have upwards of $35 million in cap space however they will have trouble spending it on a player who just had another surgery to an injury that makes it pretty difficult to grab and pull opposing players. JPP should find a contract somewhere and at 27 he is still pretty young. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, and Arizona Cardinals should all be looking to take a chance on the unorthodox pass rusher.
