The Philadelphia Eagles currently have a problem, DeMarco Murray. The Eagles plucked Murray from the Dallas Cowboys in free agency, and ever since then the Eagles have gone downhill.

Murray himself only ended up with 702 yards on the season, the former NFL rushing champion struggled mightily all season long. The Eagles signed him to a 5 year $40 million dollar deal with $9 million guaranteed which pretty much makes cutting the ineffective running back a non-option.

This season Murray averaged a career low 3.6 yards per carry, after leading the league in rushing that's a pretty big drop off. So what is it exactly, scheme? Coaching? The offensive line?

The easy answer is that it is probably all 3. Murray left the Dallas Cowboys just because he could get a $40 million dollar contract and the Cowboys knew he would never be worth that much. Think about it he was on the Cowboys for 3 seasons prior, and not a peep about DeMarco.

Sure they were rebuilding their offensive line but that was not the point. The Eagles are going to have a hard time justifying why they pay Murray so much and still pay Ryan Mathews $11,000,000 for 3 years. The Eagles would like to rework Murray's contract however both Murray and the Eagles could be stuck together for quite a while.
