Los Angeles Lakers News 2012: Mike D'Antoni Believes Lakers Firing Of Mike Brown Was Unfair

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Mike D'Antoni understands that there is a lot of pressure on him to rid the team of their current struggles as they try to improve from their current 7-8 record.

Under his offense many players have continued to struggle to assimilate themselves to it, at times even the star players perform at a sub-par level. To make matters worse veteran point guard Steve Nash is still not back from injury, and he's the only player on the roster who has some experience under D'Antoni's system.

Still, D'Anotni remains confident that things will eventually fall into place and is not intimidated by the pressure to succeed where his predecessor, Mike Brown, could not.

The current Lakers coach spoke to 790 The Ticket in Miami to The Dan LeBatard Show With Stugotz and talked about the Lakers firing of Brown.

When asked if it was fair for Brown to be fired after going 1-4 to start the season, D'Antoni had these words:

"No. No. It's never fair. But it's our business and our business is not fair. That's the basis of it and that's the way it goes. I think when you sign on the dotted line, and they pay you a lot of money to do that, it's part of the business. A lot of it isn't fair and it's not a reflection on who you are as a head coach and who you are as a person, but that's part of the game and otherwise don't get into coaching 'cause that's the way it is."

Brown implemented elements of the Princeton offense this season, but it turned out to have no success for this current team.

Coach D'Antoni will run a much different offense from the Princeton, and everyone in Lakers Nation is hoping that he can bring this struggling team around.
