Super Bowl 50 Results: Denver Broncos Win Over Carolina Panthers, Von Miller MVP, Peyton Manning Wins Second Championship

The Denver Broncos won Super Bowl 50 over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday night at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. Von Miller won MVP of the game and Peyton Manning won the second championship of his career in the 24-10 victory for Denver.

The Broncos defense was dominating on Sunday, keeping Cam Newton off balance and putting constant pressure on the Carolina quarterback. The team finished the game with seven sacks and showed why they were the top rated defense in the league this season. Miller took the MVP award for the game after putting up 2.5 sacks, six tackles and multiple hits on Newton, causing two fumbles.

The Panthers could not get anything going with consistency on offense and the team trailed for the first time this postseason after going down 10-0 in the first quarter. Manning did not say whether or not he will retire after winning the Super Bowl, but many around the league expect him to hang up his cleats after this season. Manning set a record with his 200th career victory in the regular season and postseason combined and if he does hang up his cleats, he will leave the league as a winner.

The win gave Denver its third championship and first since back in 1999 when John Elway led the team to a second-straight Super Bowl victory. Newton did not look comfortable at any point in the game and the Denver defense was able to keep the explosive Panthers offense in check for the duration of the game. Newton was sacked six times in the game and both Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware were in the backfield quite a bit, forcing Newton to throw off-balance for most of the game.

Manning reached another milestone by becoming the first quarterback to win the Super Bowl with two different franchises after previously doing it with the Colts. Manning did not put up great numbers while completing 13-for-23 passes for 141 yards, but it was enough to get the job done. The Broncos in a way made up for their last Super Bowl appearance, which saw the team lose 43-8 against the Seahawks in a game that was never competitive.

"It feels great," said Miller, according to ESPN. "Peyton and DeMarcus and coach Phillips and all the guys that have been deserving their whole, whole career. I did this for them. I put my neck on the line for those guys."
