Seattle Seahawks Rumors: Christine Michael Favored Over Matt Forte, Lamar Miller, Chris Ivory for Thomas Rawls Help as Jermaine Kearse to Return?

Heading into the offseason, the Seattle Seahawks will make offense their focus. Getting protection for Russell Wilson is a top priority while replacing Marshawn Lynch and potentially Jermaine Kearse are two other needs the Seahawks must worry about. For the first time in a long time, the Seahawks have questions at the running back spot after Lynch retired while getting an upgraded target will be a welcomed addition for Wilson.

Thomas Rawls is preparing for a big role increase in 2016. The running back showed promise in his rookie season doing a solid job filling in for Lynch when he was injured. But that potential was only seen briefly as Rawls ended his year early thanks to an injury. While Rawls appears to be a star in the making, the Seahawks need to beef things up behind him. While ESPN.com suggested Matt Forte be a potential target for the Seattle, the team will likely aim for cheaper options.

According to the Seattle Times, head coach Pete Carroll would like to bring back Christine Michael who started with the team, was briefly part of the Dallas Cowboys and then re-joined the team for the final weeks of the year. Michael is familiar with the Seahawks offense while offering up a solid amount of production behind Rawls. He would also be an easy contract to determine. He would be the best free agent pickup if the Seahawks want to watch their spending at the position.

According to Evan Silva of Rotoworld.com, the Seahawks also need an upgrade at wide receiver. Kearse told the media that he has no plans of offering up a hometown discount to Seattle. If the Seahawks want a solid receiver to add on the field, bringing him back is a good option. However, Silva believes Kearse is a candidate to be overpaid in free agency this year. The Seahawks might avoid it and thank themselves later. With Jimmy Graham struggling and Doug Baldwin entering a contract year, they need someone to help out.

Marvin Jones could be a steal for Seattle even though he is looking to get paid as well. Mohamed Sanu, Anquan Boldin and Rishard Matthews could be solid additions to help Wilson out while being relatively cost effective. This offseason the Seahawks are focused on making Wilson better. The team's offense left a lot to be desired at points last season and now they are tasked with finding the right few additions to put the roster in a better place to compete in 2016.
