Joey Bosa Dallas Cowboys' Top NFL Draft Target If Available At Fourth Pick?

The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly done with defensive end Greg Hardy, and will not look to re-sign the pass rusher this offseason. While Hardy is out the door in Dallas, Cowboys 2015 second-round draft pick defensive end Randy Gregory has been suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

Those are two big pieces on the Cowboys defensive line that will be missed at the beginning of next season, but Dallas could look to bolster their pass rush in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Cowboys have the fourth pick in the draft after posting a 4-12 record during the 2015 regular season, and if Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa is available with the fourth pick, Dallas will take him, according to NFL Draft analyst Dane Brugler of CBS Sports.

The Buckeyes coveted pass rusher is considered the top prospect by many draft analysts, and would have an immediate impact on Dallas' defensive line. The Cowboys pass rush struggled in 2015 even with Gregory and Hardy, as they finished tied for 25th in the league with just 31 team sacks.

Bosa was a force in the Big Ten for the Buckeyes all three seasons, and was doubled-teamed by opposing offensive lineman throughout his junior season. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound defensive end recorded 26 sacks, 51 tackles for a loss, and 148 total tackles in three seasons with the Buckeyes. Bosa is a talented pass rusher but is also much more, as he as great at stopping the run and shedding offensive lineman, and attacks opponents in their backfield.

The Cowboys reportedly have Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey at the top of their draft board, but it's reasonable to think given their needs they could target Bosa. It's unknown if the talented defensive lineman will be on the board by the fourth pick, but expect Dallas to have interest in him, as could fill immediate hole week one.
