Golden State Warriors' Kevin Durant Pursuit May Shake Up Roster?

The Golden State Warriors already have one of the best rosters in the NBA, but they could be looking to get even better in free agency. The team is currently working towards defending their NBA championship and this summer they could be adding another big name to help the wins continue. While the Warriors continue to get linked to Kevin Durant in free agency, will the team be willing to make the other roster sacrifices that will come with it?

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports during an appearance on The Big Lead, the Warriors are the front runners for Durant over other teams. Wojnarowski reports that if Durant does not re-sign with the Thunder, he will head to the Warriors and join their already deadly roster. Even if a team like the Lakers gets a top draft pick, he does not plan on heading to Los Angeles in 2016.

The idea of Durant signing to the Warriors seems almost unfair for all other NBA teams. However, making it work could be difficult for the team. With big contracts assigned to Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, the Warriors would be forced to part ways with someone for Durant. According to ESPN's Zach Lowe, the Warriors would have to say goodbye to someone like Harrison Barnes, Andre Iguodala or Andrew Bogut. The team would have four players signed to max deals which leaves little money for the bench. It might mean the Warriors have the best starting lineup, but they will have no depth.

According to Spotrac.com, the Warriors have Iguodala with one year left on his contract. Bogut has one year remaining on his deal. Barnes is set to be a restricted free agent. Getting Durant is nice, but those players are all key assets that have played a large role for Golden State. Getting rid of them could impact the roster more than people might believe.

Curry has heard the talk of Durant potentially coming to Golden State. He was quick to say he liked the current roster of the team.

"Wait a second. How much better could we possibly get? Why change anything?" Curry said before the All-Star break, via ESPN.com. "Not in those terms. I hear that stuff, and it's human nature to be interested in it. I'm very comfortable with our team, and obviously being 44-4."
