Miami Heat Pressuring Chris Bosh To Sit Out Rest Of The Season?

Chris Bosh continues to remain out for the Miami Heat as the forward undergoes treatment for a blood clot in his calf muscle. The Heat have been coy about when the All-Star might return to the court, offering up little updates about the status of his health. With fear growing that Bosh could miss the rest of the season, reports are now saying that the Heat are encouraging the idea.

Bosh is under "increasing pressure from physicians and the organization to sit out the rest of the season," according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Bosh has yet to be ruled out for the year, but the Heat are concerned about the health risks that could be involved if he comes back and plays again. Doctors are reportedly deeming it too dangerous for Bosh to be back on the court right now.

This would be history repeating itself for the Heat and Bosh. Last season, the forward suffered a blood clot in his lungs that ended his season early. The forward was able to return to basketball under the impression that the health scare was behind him, but now, the reoccurring issue could potentially end his career if it does not get better.

Dwyane Wade told the media that Bosh has been in good spirits despite the health scare. The forward has been coming around team facilities, shooting the basketball and watching film sessions. However, he cannot do much more than that and might not be able to for the rest of the season.

"He gets on the court, shoots [a few] jump shots and gets a little sweat in," Wade said, via ESPN.com. "He's still a big part of this team. As I've said before, he's around, and he's in good spirits."

The absence of Bosh will make the Heat's push for the playoffs tough. The team has been incredibly short-handed since coming out of the All-Star break. Wade has missed time for a knee issue, Tyler Johnson is out with a shoulder injury, and Beno Udrih is out for the year. Without Bosh, the lineup is strained and the playoffs fall further out of reach. Luol Deng will move to the power forward position while Justise Winslow gets more time with the starters. Winslow told the media that it is all about overcoming obstacles.

"We're just going to have to be tough, be physical," Winslow said, via The Miami Sun-Sentinel. "We've gone small, especially late in games. But it's going to be more, the whole game now, without C.B. It's going to be really tough, but I'm sure we can figure out a way."
