Los Angeles Rams Intent On Keeping Janoris Jenkins, Trumaine Johnson

The Los Angeles Rams have made it very clear that their intention heading into this free agency period is to keep the productive tandem of Janoris Jenkins and Trumaine Johnson according to The Orange County Register.

Jenkins had a solid year, but Johnson was the better player in 2015. Deciding who to re-sign would drive a general manager crazy, as Jenkins has been more consistent throughout his entire career but Johnson had the more productive season, according to ESPN.GO.com. Jenkins recorded 64 combined tackles, 15 pass defenses, three interceptions and a forced fumble, all in 15 games. Johnson, on the other had, recorded a ridiculous seven interceptions, a defensive touchdown, 17 pass defenses and 71 combined tackles in only 14 games, 13 of which he started.

Johnson's explosion will make it hard to say goodbye to the Rams top cornerback of 2015, luckily for the Rams they may not have too. The Rams have almost $60 million in salary cap space and could use a lot of that to bring back their top defensive backs heading into 2016. In terms of franchise cap space, the Los Angeles Rams rank fourth in the league right behind the Chicago Bears so they should be expected to be major players in free agency according to ESPN.GO.com.

The Rams seem prepared to let everyone else go except for these two players (except Greg Zuerlein) so it is likely they do just that.  The Los Angeles Rams have been trying to build a roster that is capable of competing for a playoff spot, resigning these two defensive playmakers would go a long way in making that happen.
